Apps Page v.2

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Applications are only open for the first two weeks of the month. That is, from the 1st to the 14th. Applications close at exactly 12:00 AM (CST) on the 15th of the month. Any applications submitted after that point will be deleted without consideration. Applications will be reviewed at random intervals throughout the cycle, but will be processed no later than the 15th, or the 16th at latest.

APPLICATIONS ARE CLOSED

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So you think you're ready to apply for a character now? Great! Some points to note before you get started:

  • First and most important: READ THE RULES.

  • Be sure to look at the taken characters and reserved characters to make sure the character you're planning on applying for isn't already claimed.

  • If you need ideas for who to apply for, feel free to look through the requested characters to see who the other players here want.

  • Be sure to fill out the app form completely, and in enough depth that we can see you know the character and are able to write them. The background and personality sections, for example, don't have to be novel-length-- they can be if you want or need them to be, but they can be fairly short as well as long as you make sure to get all the major points of the character across.

  • The sample post required for the app can be in either first or third person, because we allow both in the game itself. Use whichever format you prefer, just make sure it's long enough to get your character's personality across either way.

  • Use your own words. Do not plagiarize another player's application or an outside source, especially in the personality section. We want to see your perspective on the character, not someone else's.

  • Remember! We will only accept characters age ten and over (with some exceptions), and players age thirteen and over.

  • Once you're finished with your application, post it as a reply to this post.

  • If you're looking to app an Add-On, refer to this post.

What we are looking for in the apps:

We're not looking for novels, but we're also looking for enough depth that we can tell that you know the character and get an idea of how you will play them. Here are some guidelines for what to include in the major sections.

[Background]

As mentioned on the form, links to outside sources like Wikipedia/Fandom Wikia are acceptable. However, if there is any important information regarding a character's development missing from the source, we ask you write it out in addition to the link. Basically, what we don't want is a link to a Wiki page that only gives a small paragraph of generic information.

Be sure to focus on what happens with the character specifically. Don't worry about giving away spoilers, it's absolutely fine.

If you'd like to write out the whole history yourself, that is perfectly fine. We are mainly looking for important events that are specific to the character, so a complete scene-by-scene walkthrough/summary is not necessary.

[Personality]

This will vary between characters, and the minimum should be about two to three well developed paragraphs. We encourage applicants to probe deeper into the character's mind and lay out not only the fundamentals, but also what makes the character unique. Their quirks, habits, opinions, philosophies...take all those things into account. Tip: Consider the character's strengths and weaknesses. Even if they have a dominant trait, don't forget to mention the other parts of them. A character is three-dimensional, not flat.

[Abilities]

This is a wild card as not all characters will have super powers. But abilities can vary more than just powers or strength. A suggestion for normal human characters would be what are they good at? Reading people? Giving advice? Some of this may be pointed out in the Personality or Background sections, but do not hesitate to restate them here.

For those who do have super powers/skills, please give a decent sized description of what they can do. We don't need a list of every thing, so if you are applying a video game character, we don't need a complete skill set. We just want some general details. What's their fighting style? Do they use magic spells? If so, what are some examples or the range of elements? Can they wield weapons? If there are specific skills that should be noted, you are more than welcome to include them here.

Please note that we do impose some restrictions in the game on characters who are particularly powerful. If your character's powers would be restricted, you should include both what their powers are in canon and how they will be adjusted in Somarium.

[Sample Post]

We accept either first person or third person samples. However, sometimes one point of view suits a character better than the other. For example, it would likely be more beneficial to write a very quiet character in the third person point of view, as they probably would not have a lot of dialogue in first person. While just have dots and actions tags are perfectly fine in the RP itself, we can't accept that in the actual sample. We need to see how you will portray the character's personality. There is nothing wrong with having a third person sample that is just narrative with no dialogue; and conversely, there is nothing wrong with having a first person sample with no explicit actions. Either way is fine as long as we can see their personality.

As for the length, the sample post should be at least 2-3 paragraphs if in third person. We have no limit for first person samples, but it should at least be lengthy enough for us to have a good feel of the character's voice. Have the character move around a bit, explore, muse. Something so that we can see them in action. Look at some applications that have been accepted and go for a happy medium.

If you aren't quite sure what to write about in the sample, try showing how the character reacts to any of the following:

- the floating castle
- the village in the middle of a city
- any of the creatures that could be seen, such as the scarecrows
- the Dreamberries that magically appear in their hands or in their pockets

While we prefer sample posts to be set in Somarium, this is not a requirement. If it's easier for you to write a sample set in canon, go for it.

For more examples, you can look at the applications posted in this entry OR in the previous applications post.

REMEMBER, YOU MUST WAIT FOR YOUR APPLICATION TO BE ACCEPTED BEFORE YOU CAN PLAY THE GAME.

NOTICE: Please refrain from commenting on other people's applications unless it is absolutely necessary. If you like their application or have a question about it, it's almost always better to wait until an official verdict has been given. Unnecessary comments clutter up both the apps page and the mods' inboxes. If we notice excessive comments, we will start to screen them.

[Background]

Fruits Basket starts off with the story of the Jyuunishi. The animals were called to partake in a banquet with the God for New Year's Eve. The cat however was not able to attend the banquet as he was tricked by the rat into believing that it was to be held the day after. Having missing the banquet, the cat was not recognized as part of the Jyuunishi and was treated as an outcast. This sparked the beginning the heated relationship between rat and cat. Unfortunately for Kyou, he was one of those cursed by the spirit of the cat.

When Kyou was a child, his mother was very protective of him and always reassured him that she loved him. Deep down, he knew that she was actually scared of his true form. She did not want to acknowledge the fact that her son was born cursed by the spirit of the cat, thus made it so Kyou lived a sheltered childhood. She eventually committed suicide by throwing herself at an oncoming train. Kyou's father blamed Kyou for his wife's death, saying that she suffered because she had loved her son so much.

Kyou was then taken in by Kazuma Sohma as he was the only one who believed that the boy did not lead his mother to suicide. Kazuma had first taken Kyou in to make up for his mistakes of ignoring his grandfather who was the former cat. He eventually came to love Kyou as if he were his own son. He acted as Kyou's foster father and taught Kyou to actually live, outside of the Sohma estate. It is said that Kazuma was the first person to show Kyou actual love.

He first appears in the manga - after disappearing into the mountains with Kazuma for training - when he bursts through the roof of Shigure’s house and attacks Yuki, who happens to be the rat. Unfortunately for him, Tohru’s clumsiness causes him, Yuki and Shigure to transform into their animal counterparts. He loses his temper because of the turn of events and accidentally wounds Tohru. He and Yuki then fight and Yuki emerges the winner. When Yuki and Tohru come home from school, Tohru finds Kyou patching the hole on the roof as a means of sorry but is interrupted and he storms out of the room. His attitude towards Tohru was harsh in the beginning but they slowly become friends as Kyou tries to remedy his anger issues. He then begins life under Shigure's roof together with Tohru and Yuki, and starts school at Kaibara High, under Akito’s orders.

[Character name] Puss In Boots
[Age] Adult Tomcat?
[Canon] Shrek 2-3/ Shrek The Halls
[Point in time taken from canon] After Shrek 3
[Background]

Puss is from a world where every fairy-tale creature that ever was imagined live together in relative harmony. It is a world where kings rule and knights go on valiant quests to save princesses and were ogres like to live grumpily in their swamps. While this world may look much like a medieval era world, it has some more modern luxuries such as television sets, cameras and telephones.

There are some distinct places to visit in this chaotic world, such as the kingdom of Duloc, which was once ruled over by the diminutive Lord Farquaad; The Worcestershire Academy, a boarding school for teenagers, noted for it's jousting team. The most notable Kingdom is Far Far Away, which is far, far away from wherever you happen to be.

He is a swashbuckling orange striped cat with a spanish accent who wears boots and has great skill with the sword. When King Harold discovered that his daughter, Princess Fiona, had married and ogre and was living in a swamp, he was beside himself with rage. He hated Shrek, and wanted nothing more then to see him gone and his daughter wed to a true Prince Charming.

On a recommendation from Doris, the ugly stepsister who worked as a barmaid of the Poison Apple Inn, Kind Harold hired Puss In Boots to assassinate Shrek. Puss was known as a famous ogre slayer, the most fearsome in all the land, and was paid handsomely for the deed. Unfortunately, during is first direct assault on the ogre, Puss was waylaid by a hair ball that he had to stop and cough up.

Because Shrek chose to spare his life, Puss then declared that he owed a life debt to him. Although there is some tension/rivalry between Puss and Shrek's best friend Donkey (who seems nervous that Puss is taking his place as "annoying talking animal"), the three eventually become close friends and allies.

Puss becomes an important part of the plans that were conceived to steal a potion from the Fairy God Mother's Happy Ending Factory, and to stop Princess Fiona from drinking a potion that would make her fall in love with the first person she sees. The Fairy God Mother had planned to have her fall in love with her son Prince Charming so he would be next in line to be king.

Far Far Away is now ruled over by the newly crowned king Arthur "Artie" Pendragon, who came to power after his uncle, The Frog King Harold passed on. King Harold's ogre daughter, Princess Fiona and her husband Shrek were technically the next in line to the throne, but after spending a week making Royal appearances while the king was ill, decided it would be in their best interest - as well as the rest f the kingdom's- if they sought out Fiona's cousin Artie to take the thrown for them.

[Personality]

Puss is a very suave cat, knowing all to well that he is adorable and he uses it to his full advantage. Be it in a fight, or an attempt to woo the heart of a lady. He is extremely loyal to his friends, willing to put his life on the line for them if need be. He's valiant and daring and holds true to his vows, and kind to those in need.

He can be very mischievous and playful, offering wise-cracking sarcastic comments to diffuse -or create- a tense situation. But he is also a confidant who will offer the best advice he can give for a situation. At least, what he thinks would be the best advice. At times he can come off as arrogant, but he's actually just proud of who he is and what he's accomplished.

[Abilities]
Talking! Singing! Playing guitar!

Despite his small size, Puss is a brave and valiant swordsman, much along the lines of Zorro. He's very fast and nimble, but being a cat he isn't very strong so he utilizes his surroundings as best he can in a fight. Also, being a tomcat he comes equipped with claws, sharp teeth, and excellent balance.

One of his best defenses is his ability to be hear-meltingly cute, making enemies stop and go "Awwww" at how cute he is so he can take them by surprise. He's also pretty good at handling small children, ogre and dragon/donkies alike.

Despite all that, Puss is still a cat and subject to a lot of cat-like behavior. He gets cat hair on everything, has no shame in curling up on other peoples pillows, nor is he above licking himself in public. Getting caught playing with an Irresistible Dangling Thing however, that is cause for mortification and shame.

[Other important stuff]
Spanish Accent

[Sample post]

Hola? Ah, jes.. I was wondering if you could 'elp me with sometin.. -=politely pulls off his hat and holds it at his side as he speaks=-

I seem to 'ave been separated from my friends you see, and I was wonderin' if you 'appen to see a large smelly ogre and a talking donkey come by here? No? Alas..

-=sweeps his hat in front of him as he bows=- Ah well, it is good to meet you! I am Puss...-=grins as he slips is hat back onto his little head and draws a claw along it's edge for dramatic effect=- In Boots~

Awe inspiring, jes~ I can tell by the look in your eye!

[Which rule was your favorite and why?] No playercesting. I just don't get that.

[Character name] Vincent Nightray
[Age] 23
[Canon] Pandora Hearts
[Point in time taken from canon] A little after chapter 34

[Background]

Vincent was born to the streets. Whom his real parents were isn't known and not has he ever cared. His older brother Gilbert was with him through it all and that's all that mattered to him. He loved his brother dearly, sticking close to him.

Life on the streets was not easy. Often he would be tortured and ridiculed for having a red eye that is said to be the sign of evil. For this reason he valued his older brother, clinging frightening close to his brother for comfort away from the fears of other people. It was on a day that he could not remember clearly that Gilbert's employer took them in, clothing, feeding and caring for him as he deemed they needed. One of his acts included cutting Vincent's hair in the front so his eyes could be seen. He saw nothing wrong with the boy nor his heterochromia and thought no one else should either.

For a while it was just Vincent, Gil, their master and the girl he would take care of. One day, however, the master's best friend chose that everybody in his family and on his grounds must die. The master tried to talk to his friend and Gilbert went along to protect him from the other man. Much to Vincent's horror, his brother was stabbed fatally and their master was hurt very badly as well.

Vincent was lost. He didn't know what to do at all. As the dead bodies continued to pile around him, what very little sanity the little boy had started to twist and contort. It even got to the point he deemed the human bodies not even people, but dolls that Glen or Jack sent him to play with. With that thought in mind, he took what blade he could manage and ripped more at the bodies.

Somewhere before, during or after this, he was told of a way to save his brother. Frantic, he did whatever was needed to get to the Abyss to see the Will and ask for a favor. What conspired is unknown, but Gilbert was saved and the boys were tossed out one hundred years into the future. For a while, Vincent and Gilbert were adopted into separate families, but Gilbert soon did join his brother in the Nightray family.

As an adult, Vincent does not do much of anything since he is the middle child. Being apart of Pandora, he does his job to get rid of illegal contractors. Apart from that, his only other actions are to fulfill what he believes his brother wants and his own personal needs. This why he has enlisted the help of the people of Baskerville. The only person who thinks anything against him is Xerxes Break, a person he ran into in the Abyss. For the fact Xerxes is a servant of the Four Families, he cannot speak out against him without solid evidence to support the claim.

Recently, Vincent has convinced his brother that Alice needs to die in order to save Oz's life. He doesn't know yet if Gilbert was able to go through with it or not, believing strongly in the darkness he knows envelops his brother. There was also a bit of trouble with his personal maid falling victim to the nice, accepting personality Oz has. Not accepting this change in her, he cast away that personality in favor of her other.

He was last on his way to meet Ada Vessailus for a date. Before going on this outing, he asked the two Baskerville ladies to tail his brother and watch the happening in Sabrie. After his date he did not follow, not wanting to face some of the things that he would see in there.

[Personality]

Vincent is a person you rarely ever see not smiling. In addition to this, he can be rather passive with many situations. Being the middle child of a noble family, he was raised to have manners and treat people with respect even if he does not want to. This is something he likes to keep in mind with all interactions he finds himself in. If a person does end up disliking him for whatever the reason, he is the type of person who will encourage them to continue hating him and in some situations he will even give more reason why they should.

The happenings of his past have nurtured him to be a very frightening person in most people’s opinions. His own brother finds him very strange and can’t imagine why Vincent acts the way he does or clings to him. He does not bother to make it secret how much he loves his brother and wants to be able to be the only one he has left at the end. Usually it's put off as apart of his clingy, attention-needy nature. He is also known for his treatment of the hired help and how demanding and particular his needs are while often humiliating them and demeaning their morals.

He is very selfish and destructive [at least to inanimate objects the most]. He wants his brother to himself but is quite all right with waiting for him to push everyone away slowly. When it comes to other people he is not so patient. He will not hesitate to lash out and set people back in their place if he believes they are outside of it. Even if he is playful and childish outwardly, he is a no-nonsense kind of person when it comes down to how he wants things to occur. He may smile and have fun through it, but the moment it changes from what he envisioned; he will show just how moody and angry he can be.

[Abilities]

The abilities of his chain are completely unknown. Apart from that he is very good with words and how he talks people into this or talks himself out of equally hard situations.

Other than that he's isn't much harm unless he gets a blade in his hand. He isn't versed well with a sword, he just has a lot of practice destroying unmoving, inorganic objects (preferably stuffed) with short, dagger-like blades.

[Other important stuff]

=Vincent is narcoleptic. If you don't know what that means, it basically states he will fall asleep at random. It isn't a severe case, but there will be occasional times where he may fall asleep randomly.

[Character name] Sanji
[Age] 19
[Canon] One Piece
[Point in time taken from canon] Shabondy Archipelago/After Kuma's hit

[Background] Sanji was born in North Blue and later joined a ship known as the Orbit as an apprentice cook boy. The ship was attacked by the Chef Pirates who followed the greatly know 'Red Leg' Zeff. Attempting to protect the ship, Sanji tried to fight back with two kitchen knives, but was easily thwarted with a powerful kick. A storm was also bombarding the ship with intense waves which swept at the decks and dragged Sanji below the raging sea. Zeff dove down belong to save him, there are two differences here from the manga and anime. In the anime it was while Zeff was saving Sanji from drowning that he lost his right leg, but the canon that will be used shall be the one from the manga.

After Zeff manages to rescue the young Sanji, they end up on a deserted island with what appears to be a giant sack of food. Zeff basically tosses him a measly small sack of food and tells him to wait on the other side of the island, and to not show his face to him until one of them sees help. Sanji is outraged at how he was given such small portions but eventually has no choice but to wait on the other side. It's never really stated the exact amount of time they were stranded. Though it is shown that Sanji scratched against rock to mark the passing of time which could have been anywhere from a couple of weeks to months, possibly.

Soon, on his last piece of molded bread, the show of starvation was clear with the appearance of a hollowed out face, and being able to see bones through skin. The last morsel fell from his fingers into the sea, and hunger was causing him to consider things he'd never would. With one kitchen knife still in hand he made his way back towards Zeff, intent on getting the giant sack of 'food' with whatever means necessary. Yet, it was as he slashed into the sack, that horror dawned on his face. There was never food in the giant sack Zeff had, but gold instead that he'd stolen. Of course that meant the small food he was given what was all either of them had, but Zeff had given it all to Sanji. This is were the manga and anime differentiate once more. In the manga the way Zeff survived during that long time was by eating his own right leg (I'll be going with this canon past for Sanji.)

Close to starving to death, Sanji realized he owed his life to the man who had not only rescued him from drowning but also kept him fed. There they both realized they shared the same dream of finding the Legendary Ocean 'All Blue'. Now though, with Zeff's leg keeping him from being a pirate he shares how he'd always wanted to have a restaurant out at sea, which causes Sanji to vow that he'd help him have that restaurant one day. Finally as Zeff was growing wearier a ship could be seen in the distance, which Sanji cried out for in tears and finally they were rescued.

About 9-10 years later we meet Sanji much later in the series on the Baratie, the floating restaurant. This is where Luffy and crew first meet him. At first Luffy tried to obtain Zeff as their chef, only to be declined, afterword when meeting Sanji and finding out he's also a cook he tries to persuade him to join. Sanji also declines the offer, saying he was needed at the Baratie. An chance meeting with a starving pirate named Gin, changes everything when later it's found out he was the commander of known pirate Don Krieg, whom the commander later brings to the restaurant in order to obtain food for all their starving crew-mates. Sanji is of course blamed and yelled at by the other chefs for bringing pirates such as Don Krieg to their establishment. Sanji though, refused to let anyone starve, after his hardships he'd never let another go through what him and Zeff had.

Though food was given to Don Krieg, it was quick to see he was just as vile as first perceived as he proceeded to take over the restaurant. Through the help of Luffy they were able to defeat Don Krieg. Afterward Zeff and the other chefs tell Sanji how he should leave the Baratie. They do so in a somewhat cruel manner that causes Sanji to run outside, slumping down for a smoke only to cry. It's as he's out there that he overhears that they were merely doing it to push Sanji into doing what he should be doing for himself and so that he could finally obtain his dream of finding 'All Blue' than there on the Baratie wasting away. Hearing this, Sanji comes back in cool and composed and tells Luffy he'll go with him. This marked the day that Sanji became one of the Straw Hat Pirates and started his journey towards the Grand Line and All Blue.

(Forgive me my TL;DR orz;; )

Peony Upala Malkuth [2/?]
[info]feverish_love
2009-07-07 03:13 am UTC (link)
[Background]
The heart of Keterburg, a blistering cold town at the top of the world, was where the noble and fun-loving Peony Upala spent many of his younger years. Born the youngest of three sons (and one daughter) to the Emperor of Malkuth, Peony was sent away from the capital to live in Keterburg due to heated relations with the neighboring country of Kimlasca.

Here, Peony was destined to meet the three people that ultimately shaped his life; Saphir, Nephry, and Jade. Keterburg, one could say, was nestled away from the conflict-riddled world, and Peony lived a normal, if sheltered, childhood in the small, almost snow-globe-like world his parents placed him in. To hide his true identity, Peony used the name “Franz” in school, giving the alibi of being the humble son of merchants from Chesedonia, recently moved to Keterburg for business affairs and a new start. His attempt at remaining incognito remained for awhile, but ultimately, his true identity was discovered.

Growing up, Jade was one of the closest people to Peony. Although the boy oftentimes came off as cold and curt, their friendship did not falter, and Peony oftentimes sat beside the boy during school-hours. This closeness, which developed slowly but surely, upset a third friend in the mix; Saphir. Saphir was, needless to say, horribly jealous of the two’s close-knit friendship. Before Peony had arrived, Saphir and Jade were ‘the best of friends’ (in Saphir’s mind, at least). Peony was a threat, essentially taking Jade away from Saphir, as he saw it. In short, Peony irked Saphir to the point of no return. This did not keep the three from mingling together, although it was apparent that Saphir was possessive of Jade, no matter how the boy opted to treat him in return.

The last member of the childhood bunch was Nephy, Jade’s sister. This girl would be the person to shape Peony’s life and attitude forever.

Peony would often sneak out from home to listen in to Jade and Professor Nebilim’s discussions. The topics they covered were vast, and dealt with many things not focused on too deeply in school. Curious as to what intrigued his best friend, Peony couldn’t help but eavesdrop on them. After all, they were pretty fascinating.

As time progressed, and Jade and Saphir continued their pursuits in the name of science, Peony took it upon himself to watch over Nephry in their absence. During this period, Peony fell inexplicably in love.

[Background] Tohru Honda is orphaned at the beginning of the series after the death of her mother in a deadly car accident, she lives in a tent in the woods alone when her grandfather’s house is undergoing some remodeling due to his eldest son’s family moving in with them. Tohru, unknowingly, is living on the Souma families land. On her way to school, she stumbles upon Shigure’s house and stops to admire some of the clay figures that were left to dry outside of the house, she was equally surprised to see her classmate, Yuki Souma, who had been living at Shigure’s house for sometime before her appearance outside. Walking to school with Yuki, she explains to him that she lived nearby and that’s why she had accidentally appeared outside of his house.

After school that day, and after work, Tohru returns to her tent and when she leaves to get water Yuki Souma and Shigure are both outside of her tent. Taking her back to Shigure’s house, they explain that she was living on Souma land. Offering to pay for a camping site, they refuse and offer for her to stay in their house until the remodeling is finished. Tohru repays her living expense by doing all of the house hold work, such as cleaning and cooking. As she settling into her new home Kyou Souma crashed through her bedroom ceiling and challenged Yuki. In the chaos, Tohru embraced Kyou to stop him from fighting Yuki. Ultimately, he turned into his cat form, after falling into Yuki, turning him into his rat form, and Shigure into his dog form Tohru learned about the Souma family curse. Promising that she would keep their secret, after being threatened with her memory of the event being erased, Shigure visits Akito Souma, the head of the family, to ask if Tohru would be allowed to still live in his house with her memory of the event. Akito agrees and also allows Kyou to live at the Shigure’s house.

Tohru soon develops a strong friendship with the three Souma’s- especially her two classmates Kyou and Yuki- slowly her presence begins to affect them all personally. Yuki is often surprised by Tohru’s kindness, such as during the wait before they would know if she would have her memories erased; Tohru asks him if he’ll still remain friends with her even though her memory might be erased. This is something that Yuki had never been asked before and is surprised that she’d still want to be his friend even though her memory might be suppressed. Kyou is equally surprised but reacts with angry comments, which he apologies for later on. Throughout the series, Tohru meets the other members of the Souma family curse and tries her best to help them in the best way she can. Several of them were touched by her emotionally, characters such as Hatori, Ayame, Hiro, Kisa and Ritsu. Her encouragement of Kisa Souma also helps Yuki overcome his fear of becoming the student council president.

Kazuma Souma also hears of Tohru and makes a special trip to Shigure’s house to meet her. While his stay, he shows Tohru the true form of the cat. After Kyou runs away, Tohru chases after him and begs him to return to the House with her. She is not disgusted by his true form like many of the other Souma’s are. Tohru ends up carrying Kyou back to Shigure’s house in his normal cat form, smiling warmly at his agreement to keep living with her and the others in the house.

[Background] Adiane the Elegant was the 2nd General of the Spiral King's Four Supreme Generals, the only woman among them. She was good friends with General Thymilph, though General Guame joked that they had a 'closer' relationship. Ask this to Adiane and she would imply that their friendship was strong because Gen. Guama and Gen. Cytomander treated her as an inferior because her gender, while Gen. Thymilph respected her as a warrior.

After Thymilph's death, Adiane was stunned and vowed to avenge her fallen comrade. She volunteered to attack Team Dai-Gurren when she was given the opportunity by Lordgenome. She reluctantly recruits Viral (whom she blames for Thymilph's death) after he saved her from being crushed by Dai-Gurren after a failed attempt to execute Princess Nia once she learned that Lordgenome abandoned her. Because of her boasting and staking her pride on the mission, Adiane refused to return to Teppelin until she destroyed Dai-Gurren. To her luck, she used her natural element, water, to her advantage when Dai-Gurren crossed the sea on its way to Teppelin.

However, this would be Adiane's last fight. After a failed attempt to take Nia hostage, Yoko Rittona disabled the Sayrune's shoulder, leaving her open to Dai-Gurren's artillery cannons at close range. Adiane is killed instantly in the massive explosion. Her final words before her death were, "Thymilph...I'm sorry." Never forget, Adiane the Elegant died a warrior's death. She fought until the end...

[Personality] Despite her bad temper Adiane is a strategist. She analyzes and thinks thing through throughly. She's an intelligent woman with a sharp tongue and a quick wit. Though she described by others as a cynic, a narcissist, and a curmudgeon. She enjoying picking people apart and mocking their weaknesses. She can be impulsive and hot-headed, often letting her anger get the best of her. She's a moody, bitter maverick with give little to no regard to how others perceive her.

[Character name] Reever Wenham
[Age] 26
[Canon] D.Gray-Man
[Point in time taken from canon] After the 4th level akuma attacks HQ.

[Background] Not much is known about Reever's background. The things that are known are that he's age 26 and works as the Section Chief under Komui at the Black Order. He's often seen as the one who gets the most abuse from Komui when Komui always demands him to do things while Komui takes naps and Reever's forced to work long hours.

Reever's first seen upon Allen's arrival to the Headquarters, where the door denies him access and Komui charges Reever with cleaning his desk for the supposed papers that The General Cross sent days earlier. Reever often yells at Komui and often complains about Komui's work ethic, but all in all, the man admires his supervisor for the status he has to put up with and the burden that weighs down on him.

Reever's usually the man who's seen in the background, summoning Allen and Kanda to speak with Komui while holding stacks of papers to go complete. However, he's also seen as a protector of his comrads. When Allen and Kanda return from their mission in Italy, Reever is there, holding onto Lenalee tight while revealing to Allen that one of Komui's Robots, Komurin, is running rampid. He tells Allen how it came to be, when Lenalee was delivering coffee to her brother, and the robot[being a mimic of Komui himself, hat and all] took the coffee and drank it for itself, resulting in a short circut and a needle sedation to Lenalee's neck. After he tells Allen what's happened, he simply smiles and tells Allen "welcome back" rather grateful that the new recruit made it home in one piece.

The two hurry back to the rest of the people in the Headquarters, still being terrorized by the giant robot, and when Lenalee hears Allen's voice, she awakens from her sedation and takes to the air to destroy it. Reever proceeds to explain her Innocence while she destroys it much to Komui's protest. Once destroyed, Reever takes it upon himself, with the rest of the Science department backing him up, to do repairs to the damaged Headquarters.

Time passed in the manga, and Reever is only seen every once in a while, continuing to do Komui's dirty work, or constantly with papers stacked up in his arms, waiting for his supervisor to sign and do his job. Reever often has to be the one to explain things to the other members. Case in point, when Suman was becoming ripped apart internally by his own Innocence, Reever had to be the one to explain to Johnny that the Innocence is destroying him from the inside, and that he will die. He's often seen as a collective person but often shows his emotions straight forward, showing how worried he can be for his comrades.

After the Exorcists return from the Ark, Reever is seen with Bak inspecting the ark from the Asian Branch to the European Branch. It's said that Bak's so overwhelmed by Lenalee's traumatic experience that he simply cannot sit still...Reever, however, views this as an oddity among itself.

When the arrival of two new members from the higher ups, Rouvelier and Howard Link, tensions run high among Lenalee and Komui towards Rouvelier and is charged with somewhat, sweeping her away from the scene that makes her the most uncomfortable, confronting Rouvelier after what seems some time. In this moment, it also seems that Komui's only comfortable completely with Reever handling his sister.

When the Egg was returned to headquarters after the Ark incident, Reever and the rest of the science members are charged with finding out more about Akuma. He then laments and tells them that they're short handed and have pretty much been up nonestop to inspect the Egg. Tragedy then falls upon the Headquarters when Johnny, one of Reever's team members, is tragically struck from a Noah, Lulubell. Lulubell had apparently killed the Head of the Oceanian Branch and disguised herself as him to gain access into the Order to retrieve the Egg back for the Earl.

The entrance to where the Egg is sealed off from outside sources, Reever and his team members trapped inside with Bak and another head of a branch. One by one, members of the Science team are killed by Lulubell's henchmen, and Reever's yelled at by Bak to stay put, Reever wanting so badly to save his members that he's near the point of tears. The Tragedy hits too close to home when one of his prime members, Tapp, is killed and made into one of the henchmen, but when enough becomes too much, Reever shoots the evil who turned Tapp in the head. Bullets, however, don't seem to phase the creatures and the creature comes close enough to touch Reever, but in nick of time, Allen comes to the rescue.

While Allen battles endlessly, Bak and Reever combined together with a talisman to stall the creatures and Akuma until the calvary, being Miranda, Marie, and the generals, comes to save the day.

The Evacuation of the Headquarters was called into order but with the injured science department being cared after from a rare breed of Akuma known as the Fourth, Reever along with his squad were gravely injured. After Lenalee and Allen's heroic battle with Cross' help at the end to destroy it, peace was restored for the moment. Reever found his way to his close Squad workers, all of them collecting over Tapp in his last moments. Reever then mourns for his fallen comrade, once more, showing his closeness to his fellow workers and his friends.

Once things are relatively back to normal, the Exorcists are summoned to Komui's office where Reever reveals that they've run tests on Lenalee's legs and that so far no changes have gone through ever since her reinstatement of her Innocence into her body. However, crystals have seemed to form around her ankles that were made from her blood but, they are an unknown metal though Hevlaska can sense the Innocence in them.

[Personality] Reever is a down to earth hard working man. He highly admires his supervisor despite the way Komui acts. He's often the reserved level headed one to balance out Komui's insanity, but often enough, Komui's insanity becomes too much for Reever and he snaps, yelling at Komui who seems to just tease him. He's extremely devoted to his comrades and his friends in the order, which thusly expands to any new friend he meets and forms a bond with. Reever's often a big brotherly type as well, showing when he takes care of Lenalee for Komui.

[Abilities] Ability to drink soda and not gain weight. As well as last for days with no sleep Science nerd, good with Math and Language. Handy with a pistol.

[Other important stuff] ...Can has soda?

2009-07-08 05:49 am UTC (link)
[Background] Gareki's childhood is, for the most part, not a very happy one. He was sold by his parents, or rather who he assumes was his parents, when he was at the age of 8. After that, he was bought on board a transport ship, where many other people who were sold also stayed. Since they were all crowded in one room, some of the people started to bully the weaker ones. Despite not being weak, Gareki was the smallest one there, and was also bullied because of it. He realized at some point during the trip that they were putting something in the food, and more and more of the people were getting ill.

The ship eventually got caught in the storm, and he took that opportunity to escape. He fought against the waves and was lucky enough to reach shore. On a search for something to eat, he found that after a while he couldn't walk anymore. It was at that time that a kind woman by the name of Tsubaki found him. The reason that she couldn't leave him be was because that she also had two younger siblings, Tsubame and Yotaka who were the same age as him. There was a man who Tsubaki loved, and who also gave her the food to give to the twins, claiming that there were "nutrients" mixed in. This man was also taking care of their grandpa's hospitalization costs. They were very dependant on him.

Originally having grown in a very jaded environment, full of suffering where one has to strive for themselves, Gareki was very wary of this family that had come to accept him. It was Tsubaki that had named him and told him that now they were family. Even Tsubame and Yotaka came to eventually grow fond of Gareki, Tsubame especially worrying about his well-being. They became very much like a family, sometimes not starting to eat dinner until Gareki show up. It was their grandpa that introduced Gareki to mechanics, offering him some parts that he found from the junkyard to toy with. He grew used to the idea, and started to care about this family of his very much.

But apparently he wasn't allowed to be happy for too long, since the man who they all depended on chose to turn on them, even going so far as killing Tsubaki. He disappeared from their lives without a trace. Gareki made a silent promise to himself that, despite not knowing his name or face, he would kill the man who killed Tsubaki. Not too long after Tsubaki's death, Gareki left behind his family. Although he didn't completely abandon them, actually taking up stealing and thievery to take care of their grandpa's hospitalization costs. But he cut off ties of communication, not even welcoming Yotaka when he came to see him. After that, Gareki started to steal and sell the goods in exchange for money.

Gareki made his dynamic first entrance in the series in the most destructive, yet somewhat stylish, way ever: straight through the ceiling, complete with explosives and a big boom. He and a few people he knew were on a raid that night, and by Gareki's choice, they were raiding the manor of a lady named Mine. She claimed to be with Circus, but that didn't particularly bother him. He was just there for the money and treasures she'd managed to gather. Despite having a rather bewildered looking kid watching him glance through what was worthy of being stolen or not, he wasn't very fazed. After taking a quick inventory, he was about to leave, saying, "Right then. I'm leaving."

[Character name] Duster
[Age] 25
[Canon] Mother 3
[Point in time taken from canon] In the second chapter of the game, Duster gets washed out of the basement of Osohe castle.

[Background] Duster was raised by his father who was very strict in teaching him the thief arts. His father also practiced tough love, often referring to Duster as "that moron". An accident while training led to Duster losing some function of his right leg. (Here comes game plot...)When strange things start happening in his hometown, Duster's father sends him on a mission to steal a precious item from a nearby castle. Due to Pigmasks breaking into the castle, Duster takes a spill and (now I've deviated it...) nearly (or maybe he does) drowns.

[Personality] Duster is a man of few words and always seems to keep a level head. He's a bit of a loner and prefers to be a night owl. An injury to his right leg left him with a limp and, along with his slightly bad breath and ragged appearance make him seem initially unappealing. However, Duster is brave and determined and will defend those that manage to get close to him. He's a bit of a slob, but he is kind.

[Abilities] Duster carries several useful thief items with him, including wall staples and smoke bombs. Also, despite his limp, he can attack with powerful kicks and is quite agile.

[Other important stuff] ... not that I can think of. *shrug*

[Sample post]

Duster was already feeling plenty strange enough. He had suddenly woken up in a huge, unfamiliar place complete with a castle that was FLOATING. It wasn't Osohe castle, that was for sure... Duster suddenly remembered the item of great importance, the Hummingbird Egg and he frantically checked his pockets. All he found was a strange, electronic device. He was separated from Wess, he lost the egg... and now the hairs on the back of his neck were prickling. He quickly assessed his surroundings but saw only a scarecrow beside him. He turned away from it, but felt again like he was being watched. He shot a quick look over his shoulder and limped a few steps away. Then in the blink of an eye, he whirled around and flung a handful of wall staples at the scarecrow. It toppled over in a heap with the giant staples in its forehead, chest, and arms. Duster approached the still figure to gather the staples, but he felt somehow haunted and decided to just leave them, and the scarecrow pinned down.

[Which rule was your favorite and why?] I like the post limit. I like that there is one, and I like that it's not ridiculous. I've played in games where there was no limit and all the characters I interacted with just stalemated, and I've played in games where a limit was imposed that was too much and I had to quit.
[Any questions?] None that I can think of yet.

[Character name] Jasper (Whitlock) Hale
[Age] 20 / 166
[Canon] Twilight
[Point in time taken from canon] New Moon, a short time after Bella's birthday party but before the Cullens moved away.

[Background]Jasper Hale was born in Texas in 1843 with the name Jasper Whitlock. When Jasper was 18, he joined the Confederate States Army to fight in the Civil War. He had a natural gift of empathy, and with his personality and charisma he was able to rise quickly through the army’s ranks. His days in the army were numbered, however, one unfortunate night when he ran into a few young women on the side of the road. They weren’t ordinary women… they were vampires.

In 1863 at the age of 20, Jasper Whitlock was attacked by those vampires and turned into one as well. The one who had changed him, Maria, kept him because of his army ranking. A trend of creating Newborn Vampire armies was popular at the time, and Jasper was made to help her by training her Newborn vampires for her own army... especially with his talent to manipulate the emotions of those around him. Training and fighting for so long has left Jasper with many crescent-shaped bite scars all over his body and one right above his left eyebrow.

After about a century of living this way, Jasper ran into an old friend. His friend Peter, along with his mate Charlotte, convinced Jasper to leave Maria and travel with them. Jasper traveled with the pair for a while, but eventually parted from them because he was beginning to dislike feeding on humans… because he could feel what they were feeling as they died.

It was shortly after leaving the couple that Jasper met Alice in a diner in Philadelphia. She told him that they would be together, and the two of them proceeded to journey together to seek the Cullen Family. After joining the “vegetarian” vampires, Jasper took up residence with them in Washington and adopted the last name Hale. He had a hard time adjusting to their diet of animal blood rather than the blood of humans, and continues to struggle with his control although it has gotten better. His control was tested immensely when his “brother” Edward brought home a human girl who was quickly accepted as part of the family.

The introduction of Bella into their lives brought about a great many turn of events. Jasper quickly found himself defending her from a Tracker vampire with Alice by escaping on a road trip to Bella’s hometown in Arizona, nearly killing Bella himself when she had an accident at her birthday party, teaching techniques to werewolves to fight Newborn vampires, and going on a long journey with Alice to search out a vampire-human hybrid in order to defend Edward and Bella’s daughter.

(Sorry, I realized it was getting pretty long so I tried to summarize… I can try to shorten it more if it’s too long. And if it's too short, I can elaborate further lol.)

Re: Jasper Application Part 2
[info]empathicvampire
2009-07-09 03:48 pm UTC (link)
[Personality]Jasper is known for being the quiet one of the Cullen family, or “the one who looks like he’s in pain.” Around humans Jasper is indeed in a bit of pain, trying very hard to control his natural lust for human blood. It’s been very hard for Jasper to adapt to the Cullens’ diet of animal blood, but he was allowed to attend school when it was deemed that his control around humans had gotten much better. Although he works hard to keep his control, he is not perfect. If there is blood shed too close to him, his will may break.
As Alice’s mate, Jasper is very dedicated to her and willingly does whatever she asks of him without hesitation. He is nearly always at her side and can be protective of her at times, though he knows she can fend for herself. Jasper himself is a lethal fighting machine, as is to be expected due to his past. He is not the type to fight without reason. He will fight alongside his family if the need arises, as he is dedicated to them as well.
Another reason Jasper may seem in pain around people is because of his enhanced empathy. He is constantly sensing the emotions of those around him, whether he wants to or not. It’s a lot to take in. Being an empath also makes him an ideal person to talk to if one is upset or having personal problems… just as long as you don’t smell like a meal.
Having been in the army, Jasper is not as militial as one might expect. (It has been years, after all.) Most will find that Jasper allows himself to become comfortable with people over time, and he is most open with his brothers and Alice, able to joke around with his brothers from time to time. His mood may also largely depend on the moods and emotions of those around him, because he can feel what other people feel.

[Abilities] As mentioned, Jasper has the ability to sense the emotions and feelings of those around him, as well as manipulate the emotions of others. He is an empath, and a vampire. As a vampire, he has an increased speed and strength beyond that of normal humans. His sight, hearing, and sense of smell is increased as well. His skin is very cold and very hard, and shines like diamonds in the sunlight (which is something the Cullens all avoid doing.)
To elaborate on how Jasper manipulates emotions: It is done completely from his mind. There are no incantations, no gestures, no sign whatsoever that he may be inflicting anything upon anyone, other than he may be looking directly at his target. The effect tends to last until Jasper either leaves the room or recalls the inflicted emotion. There may be some who could withstand Jasper’s manipulations. I assume that if that situation is ever brought up, it will be discussed to be portrayed accurately. ^-^

[Other important stuff] I eat animals? (You didn't specify what you're looking for in this section lol But I think I've covered all the important things.)

[Age] 14
[Canon] Princess Tutu
[Point in time taken from canon] the end of episode 24, just before the Raven takes her captive.

[Background]
Rue is a grand example of someone with a mistaken identity. She is a human girl living in Gold Crown Town, but she was kidnapped when she was very young by the Raven. This evil bird is the primary villain in Drosselmeyer’s story “The Prince and the Raven”. Drosselmeyer never finished the book, so the Raven got bored and left the book’s pages in favor of Gold Crown Town. The story’s Prince followed, to the delight of Drosselmeyer’s spirit. Because of this, Gold Crown Town became engulfed in Drosselmeyer’s story.

Rue is a case of mistaken identity because of her upbringing. The Raven kidnapped her and raised her to believe that she was a crow. (This really isn’t as farfetched as it may sound. The main character of the series, Ahiru, is a duck. She’s able to take on human form and from there become Princess Tutu via an amulet that was given to her by Drosselmeyer). Believing that she was a crow and the Raven was her father, Rue lived a harsh life. Her “father” taught her that she was ugly and unlovable because she was a crow, and the only way she could achieve happiness was to serve him.

The one bright spot in Rue’s life was Mytho, the story’s Prince. When Rue was young, she was attacked by crows, but was protected by Mytho. From there, a beautiful friendship developed. It had always been a bit of an awkward relationship, considering Mytho possessed literally no emotions up until Princess Tutu began returning them to him; Mytho was forced to shatter his heart in order to seal away the Raven. While the Raven is still capable of causing trouble in Gold Crown Town, his full power cannot be used, and he cannot leave Gold Crown Town (I believe he managed to kidnap Rue by sending out underling crows to do the job). Even without emotion, Mytho is still very kind to Rue, which helped her deal with the abuse from her “father”. Eventually, she fell in love with him.

The real trouble began when Princess Tutu started showing her face. Due to the incessant abuse from her father, along with the fact that the other girls in the school were either jealous of her for “dating” Mytho, or just thought she was stuck up, Rue had very little confidence in herself. This made her believe that the only way Mytho would stay by her side was if he had no emotions. While she knew deep down that her relationship with Mytho wasn’t real love on his side, but merely indifference, she was terrified that him regaining his emotions would lead to him leaving her and thus her losing the one shred of hope she had in her dark world. To protect the relationship with Mytho that she already had, she went to her “father” to ask for help, and he lent her the power to become Princess Kraehe. As Princess Kraehe, she fought against Princess Tutu’s efforts to return Mytho’s heart to him.

The most successful attempt to prevent Princess Tutu from returning Mytho’s heart to him that Princess Kraehe put up was when she was able to get a hold of the shard of love. She managed to dye the shard in the Raven’s blood before Princess Tutu returned it to Mytho. This caused Mytho’s emotion of love, and thus all of the emotions he had, to become twisted in a way that Kraehe/Rue thought would be in her favor. The Raven also told her to have Mytho bring a pure heart to him in order to free him from his confines. He promised Rue that, in return, Mytho would love her and only her. Of course, this is a lie, and Mytho temporarily becomes a wicked soul, and verbally abuses Rue about as much as the Raven does. Not to mention Princess Tutu continues to return heart shards to Mytho, regardless of the Raven’s blood issue.

When it’s time for Princess Tutu to bring the story of The Prince and the Raven to a close with the help of Fakir, another student that Rue doesn’t particularly get along with despite them having the same goal of keeping Mytho from regaining his memories, Rue struggles against multiple obstacles, the two major ones being her attempt to prevent Princess Tutu from returning the final heart shards to Mytho, and the issue of her own identity. Along the way, it is discovered that Rue is not Princess Kraehe, nor is she a crow. She is, as was mentioned in the first paragraph, a human girl. This causes her to break down, as the life she’d known was a lie.

She begs Princess Tutu not to give the final shards of Mytho’s heart back to him, until she comes to realize that, if she truly loves Mytho, she will respect his will. However, the curse of the Raven’s blood that Rue had previously dyed Mytho’s heart with has caused Mytho to become a raven himself. When he isn’t dancing, he suffers great emotional pain, and Rue feels horrible to have caused him that fate. Five of the last six shards were the pieces holding the Raven prisoner. Knowing that it will resurrect the Raven, Rue and Princess Tutu agree to return these last shards to Mytho. As she does so, the fifth shard warns Princess Tutu that, if its return to Mytho does not break the Raven’s curse, she should not give the final shard, the pendant that allows her to become human and become Princess Tutu, back to Mytho until another way to break the curse is found.

Unfortunately, the five shards did not break the curse of the Raven’s blood, and the Raven had awakened. He tells Rue to bring Prince Mytho to him, but she steadfastly refuses, stating that her father was no raven and that she was happiest as Rue and not Kraehe. The Raven then calls Mytho to come to him of his own accord so that he may eat the Prince’s heart. Due to the cursed blood, Mytho responds, flying to the Raven. Rue tries to hold him back, as does Tutu, but to no avail. Rue then breaks down sobbing on the street, begging Mytho not to go because she loves him, she always loved him, from the day they met when she was just a child, and she always will love him. This confession breaks the curse, and Mytho is saved, but at what price? Furious, the Raven abducts Rue once more with the aid of underling crows and swallows her up into an unending despair. However, Rue goes unconscious as she is being carried away by crows. At this point of unconsciousness is where Rue will be coming into Somarium.

[Personality]
As a girl who was never treated with respect as she deserved, Rue tends to be distant and aloof to her peers, since she fears that they won’t like her. That is, after all, what she was taught by the Raven. Rue is often cold to others, and sometimes downright bitchy. However, she does have a good heart, and when she makes a friend, she’ll try her hardest to be there for them and to protect them if need be. Deep down she’s sweet and loving, but she shields herself from the potential heartache of getting too attached. At the point in her canon that Rue has been taken from, she bears the burden of deep regret, and due to how easily Princess Tutu and Mytho forgave her for her wrongdoings, she has a firm belief in the fact that she should not hold grudges. She is thankful for being given another chance and, even though her situation before being pulled from her canon was desperate, she has a strong fighting spirit and great hope for the future still. Rue is the type of person that won’t give up, even when the odds are against her. Rue also takes pride in her accomplishments, since her prowess in ballet, along with her seemingly unrequited love for Mytho, was all she thought she had. It took her a while to realize that she had a friend in Ahiru/Princess Tutu, but even then she’s proud of her skills. She worked long and hard at dance to gain such ability, and it is something that is truly hers no matter what.

[Character name] Lina Inverse
[Age] 17
[Canon] Slayers
[Point in time taken from canon] Directly after TRY.

[Background]Lina grew up the daughter of a working class merchant family. She has an older sister, Luna, who was the village darling. She excelled at martial arts while Lina grew an appreciation for food and money while working with her parents in their store, which was in effect the village's "general goods" store.

Lina constantly pulled pranks on her older "perfect" sister. She set up a magical device that projected an image over the entire town of her sister while she was in the bath. Luna's wrath was great, and Lina quickly fled from the town and has been terrified of even the mention of her sister ever since. This is likely why she started attending a prestigious magic academy far away from home. Lina did very well there, well enough to be assigned a color. In the world of Slayers, mages of great power or importance are awarded colors rather like titles, and most make a really big deal about this, dressing in the color and introducing themselves with the full title. Lina, however, was mortified by the title she was given (Lina the Pink) and keeps both her assignment of the title and the actual title itself a closely guarded secret.

After graduating she wandered around, and by the age of 15 got quite the name for herself. So much so that she was already getting admirer/stalker following her around named Naga the Serpent (who later turned out to be Seiryuun's runaway princess and Amelia's older sister) who she eventually befriended. They split off shortly before The Slayers season one starts, where she runs into Gourry. She travels with him, plus and minus others over the course of the next three years.

She's rough, rowdy, and essentially the opposite of what you'd expect out of a female protagonist. Her morals are low and her scruples are even lower. She'll save any kingdom for a price, and believe me, her prices are high. She rarely does things out of the kindness of her heart, or because they're "right." She does however believe in a sense of an overall good or rightness despite pledging herself consistently to darkness with the various spells she casts. She'll also do damn near anything to save a friend, especially Gourry to whom she's grown especially close to.

[Personality] Lina's a hothead. She's not at all "ladylike" and has been known to shoot fireballs first, ask questions later. She's painfully intelligent, though, which makes it a shame when she lets her anger get ahead of the rest of her. She's perfectly capable of thinking things through rationally as she's had to do when fighting "big bosses," but she's also a fan of overkill. When not out searching for treasure she buries herself in libraries of books, always looking up new ways to learn how to do what she does better. New spells are especially interesting to her. She also loves working out puzzles. Lina loves a challenge and is more than a little competitive.

She doesn't handle change well. She freaks out when she wakes up somewhere she didn't fall asleep in as demonstrated in canon. There have been a few times where she's been knocked out by a spell of some sort and woken up somewhere strange. She gets angry and frustrated when she's confused and usually confrontational. She's been known to march up to the nearest person and demand to know what's going on. Once she figures out what's happened, though, she adjusts pretty quickly. Part of being a traveler is that she can fairly easily adapt to wherever it is she finds herself.

Lina's also pretty emotionally immature. She'll tease someone else to no end about sex or having a crush on someone, but the second anyone so much as IMPLIES the same with her, she'll turn bright red, fluster, and possibly hit you. She's not out to find some great romance or fall in love and settle down and get married. This girl's all about money, though she'll take the occasional side detour to save the world if she ends up having to. She is a good person, she's just so selfish that she often lets greed overshadow that aspect of herself more often than not.

[Abilities] She uses magic, and is especially strong with black magic. She's the only known human who can control the Giga Slave, a spell that calls upon the creator of all universes herself, The Lord of Nightmares, and is essentially pure chaos energy. If not controlled carefully it could consume the world, and it actually killed her once. She also is pretty good at shamanistic magic, specifically Fire-based spells. Her knowledge of white magic is limited more or less to the weaker spells. Light healing (a sword slash on the arm if not too deep, could cure itchy poison ivy, stuff like that), some self healing (a little more than what she can do for others, but not much), the ability to create a small ball of light to see when it's dark, and a sleeping spell. Any more than that is seriously taxing on her. If she gets too drained her hair color starts to fade, acting as a kind of power meter, from it's normal vibrant red to shades of pinkish orange to white when she's completely on empty.

[Other important stuff] Because Lina's from the Slayers universe, she's extremely overpowered. I'm going to do my best to moderate this, though, and hopefully it won't cause a problem.

[Sample post] (This takes place in a setting for a game I played previously. If you need me to post a different sample, let me know!) She felt the snap of energy around the rented room. It was like shutting a second thick, steel door over a fortified wall-- "just in case." Lina understood the paranoia. The things they were speaking about could get them both killed before either of them were even aware of the leak.

Her face went from toying to serious just as quickly. "You don't get to have your cake and eat it too," Lina folded her arms over her chest. "I don't trust you, and for damn good reason. I need to know that if I risk my life to help you do this that you won't use your new found freedom to rip a hole in this pretty planet I've come to love and live on." She held out a quick finger, "And no, I won't just take your word on it."

Lina kept her gloved finger raised. "First. I don't trust a mazoku to play nice. If you want to play with the rest of the masterless marionettes, you're going to have to cut off some of your strings. As a mazoku you have access to too much that you shouldn't-- a half mazoku wouldn't have nearly so much power. Pick something mortal. Human, elf, beastman. I don't care. And since you'll have to help me fight Zelas, you'll be able to harness whatever power isn't mazoku related to help me. But we'll get to that later."

She held up a second finger. "Second. You're too strong. I don't know how and frankly, I don't care. You're going to have to give it up. Consider it the price of freedom. I'll even let you pick what part of you we seal off, cut off or destroy."

A third finger. "Finally, you'll have to help me kill Zelas. And you of all people know exactly what that'll mean."

Lina's eyes met open violet once more. It was bizarre seeing his eyes look at her so intently, so directly. Was that.. anxiousness she saw?

"What do you say, Xellos? You game?"

[Which rule was your favorite and why?] One of the application rules, about not applying for characters under ten. THANK YOU. I have been in so many games where this has caused serious creep-factor.
[Any questions?] Nada! Holy crap, you have a La Corda Cast. If I get in I might have to app Yunoki next round.

[Character name] Endrance / Kaoru Ichinose.
[Age] 20.
[Canon] .hack//G.U.
[Point in time taken from canon] After the third game.

[Background] Seven years before, Endrance was a Wavemaster called Elk, when the online game, The World was still version R:1. At that time, Elk constantly relied on his friend Mia, a player character with the appearance of a cat. When Mia started to become fascinated with the Twilight Bracelet, worn by the Twin Blade Kite, Elk became jealous.

Throughout time, Mia's speech started to sound broken up within the game, for unclear reasons, making Elk concerned. Her memory also became damaged. After a while, she disappeared from the game all together, leaving Elk to search for her frantically. Later, Mia was found and she revealed she was just a program within "The World". She turned into Macha, the sixth phase in what was called the Morganna Incident or Second Network Crisis, which Kite defeated.

Elk blamed Kite for Mia having left him, and he stopped talking to Kite. He watched from afar, and later, Macha reappeared. After being defeated by Kite and Elk, Macha turned back into Mia. She had lost her memory, but Elk was just happy to have her back.

Seven years after this, The World, R:2 is introduced. Kaoru takes on the name Endrance this time, and the class of a Blade Brandier. At the beginning of the G.U. series, he is first spotted by Haseo, in the Lost Ground, Idieglut Lugh, playing with AIDA spots, and a small cat on his shoulder. Later, Haseo sees Endrance as the Emperor of the Demon Palace. Endrance was the only person in his own party, and fought with his Avatar, an illegal power given to certain characters called Epitaph Users.

Haseo, also an Epitaph User, defeated Endrance in the arena. The small cat, which Endrance thought was Mia, turned out to be AIDA, a data anomaly within the world. Endrance holed himself inside Indieglut Lugh, depressed about losing Mia again. But Endrance's Avatar was vital to helping Haseo clear out AIDA within The World, and Haseo convinced Endrance to get a hold of himself.

Endrance begins to grow affectionate towards Haseo, thankful to him for having opened his eyes, and throughout the series, professes his love for Haseo. He helps defeat AIDA when he is needed. By the end of the G.U. series, he plays the double agent, siding with Sakaki, a man on the side of AIDA. But he later helps Haseo defeat Sakaki in an Avatar battle.

After Cubia, an Anti-Existence of the Epitaph Users, is defeated by Haseo and co., and the Third Network Crisis that resulted has settled down, Kaoru can take a load off for once.

[Personality] Generally, Endrance is very standoffish. He doesn’t care about other people and prefers to do things solo. He’s pretty selfish and will oftentimes be extremely rude to people he doesn’t know or like, however not always advertently – he doesn’t always seem to really get how distant he is or how severely he lacks any manners or common etiquette.

The only two entities this demeanor changes for are Mia and Haseo. Since in R:2, the only form Mia takes is that of a little AIDA-infested cat that sits on Endrance’s shoulder, he will coddle her and be wholly obsessed with her to an almost frightening extreme.

Later after the AIDA-Mia is destroyed and then Haseo smacks some sense into Endrance, the latter pretty much redirects his obsessive, stalker-like tendencies to the former. Since Haseo is actually a real person, Endrance thoroughly enjoys hanging on Haseo’s every word and pretending he is the only person that exists. He often confesses his affection for Haseo in his uniquely creepy ways, but claims he doesn’t care if the feelings are returned, so long as Haseo is happy. Endrance also says he is able to draw courage from being with Haseo.

[Abilities] Not much in the way of abilities, unless you count being able to stay online for inane amounts of time, and being a creeper. In The World, his character’s abilities include beating monsters up with flower power his one-handed sword, and calling forth his Epitaph, Macha.

[Other important stuff] Nothing really, except Endrance is pretty epic looking compared to a lot of others, seeing as he’s a straight-up MMO character from about 2016.

[Sample post] It isn’t actually all that strange to Endrance to find himself looking at a sort of floating castle. It looks a lot like a Lost Ground that Haseo might have taken him to or something. Though he doesn’t really recognize it, he’s never paid that much attention to graphics when he’s around Haseo.

The actually strange thing is how real this place feels. Endrance looks down at his hands and sees his player character’s hands, covered by the usual purple gloves. Did he…accidentally switch to first person view? Even as Endrance is wondering this, he finds that he can’t figure out how to switch back to third person. He can’t even feel the M2D controller in his real hands.

Confused, Endrance wishes he could call Haseo into his party; this would all go away, it would all be okay if he could be with Haseo. But Endrance can’t even pull up the main menu like he normally could in The World. It’s as though his consciousness is now solely inside his character.

Where his controller probably should be, in its place he notices a small device instead. It’s almost like a hi-tech smart-phone, and Endrance’s technology savvy allows him to flick through the basic commands easily. It’s not like The World that he’s familiar with, but perhaps this thing will help him contact Haseo in some way.

[Which rule was your favorite and why?] Perhaps, no alternate versions of characters. That keeps things nice and neat 8)
[Any questions?] Nope!

Sera | Digital Devil Saga | Shanti_Shaman
Zuko | Avatar the Last Airbender | Prince_Hothead

[Character name] Eliot Nightray
[Age]
[Canon] Pandora Hearts
[Point in time taken from canon] Right after Oz leaves Latowidge and he talks to Reo about his nightmares.

[Background]
Eliot Nightray is the heir of the Nightray family. The Nightray family is descended from a traitorous duke, and apparently, it is the Bezarius family’s fault that the Nightray family is looked down upon. So far, it has been heavily implied that the traitorous duke they descended from is Glenn Baskerville, the man behind the Tragedy of Sabrie. Jack Bezarius was the one who stopped Glenn, so it also would make sense that the Nightray family wouldn’t like the Bezarius family.

Eliot is a student at Latowidge, the third top prestigious school for nobles in the world. His servant, Reo, is also a student and usually stays close to Eliot. He is usually the one who helps to regulate Eliot if he ever goes out of line, since he has a bad habit of clashing with people who don’t agree with him, and trying to force his ideas on others.

Another student at the academy is Ada Bezarius, Oz’s sister. Eliot is openly hostile to her, demanding that she not call him by only his first name, and attempting to keep her away. He thinks that the Bezarius family feels entitled, and they are spoiled because they are descended from a hero. However, as much as he tries to push her away, he knows when he shouldn’t as well, as he helps her later on when he sees her passed out in the library. It’s sort of like he wants to keep hating the Bezarius family, and he puts on a good act that he does, but inside he really is a much better guy then he lets on.

He can play the piano, and composed a piece that sounds shockingly similar to the song that plays whenever Oz’s pocket watch is opened. The pocket watch was a music box made by Jack Bezarius, and Glenn Baskerville wrote the song. Even more disturbing is the fact that he named the song “Lacie,” which is the same name Glenn used as well.

He first met Oz in the library at Latowidge, when Oz had just realized that in the ten years he was in the Abyss, the rest of a series of books that he had really liked, Holy Knight, had been released. Seeming nice enough, Eliot asks Oz about a specific character in the books, a servant named Edgar. Edgar is Oz’s favorite character, and this immediately ticks Eliot off. Edgar is Eliot’s least favorite character, because he is self sacrificing, which is a trait that Eliot hates the most. Of course, he then completely spoils that Edgar dies protecting his master, and completely ruins the story for Oz. He assumed that he had read it already. Oz starts to argue that it is Edgar’s style to self-sacrifice, and that it was honorable, but Eliot says that self-sacrifice is only self-satisfaction.

This probably would have gone into a huge argument if Reo hadn’t stopped them and explained that it was Eliot’s fault they clashed. He asked Oz’s opinion, and tried to force his own opinion on him when he didn’t like it. Even though he initially tries to deny it as a reflex, he then just accepts that Reo’s right. He’s still clashing with Oz though, and wants to settle things with him… But he didn’t realize that Oz didn’t go to the school. When Reo tells him, he gets riled up again, and he’s probably about to turn Oz in, when Ada shows up.

Eliot kicks over a chair to keep her away from him, feeling completely enraged to the point where even Reo’s words mean nothing to him. He yells at Ada, and would probably keep doing so, if Oz didn’t steal the violin case that Eliot had with him at the time. While he was running around trying to catch Oz, he sees Ada passed out on the floor. His initial grudge forgotten, he immediately went to help her. During this time, there’s a cat meowing towards one of the walls nearby, and Eliot and Reo find a secret passageway by moving a candleholder.

2009-07-14 08:13 am UTC (link)
The Baskerville family, who wanted to coax the spirit of Jack Bezarius out into the open, had taken Oz down this passageway. They wanted to discover the reason Glen Baskerville wanted to destroy Sabrie. Just as Oz’s being threatened by Lotti Baskerville, Eliot and Reo show up. Eliot says he’s only there to get his violin case back at first, and then uses that as an excuse as to why, now, he is a witness to intruders in the school, and he has to take care of it. Oz yells at him to get out, that he doesn’t know what he’s getting into, but Eliot knows who the Baskerville family is. He says that it is the honor of nobles to get rid of them. When Oz keeps telling him to go, because it’s his problem, Eliot openly compares him to Edgar, the book character that Oz cared about so much. In other words, Oz pisses him off.

So, if he hates Oz so much, why not just run and leave him to die? Oz tries to say this to him, and then Eliot first off claims he’s not so much of a coward as to run away with enemies before him, and he also says that Oz’s feelings, the ones that are so similar to Edgar’s, are completely wrong. The idea of being unafraid to die, and dying praying for the happiness of those you care about is completely wrong! If you die, you hurt your loved ones the most. You can’t be unafraid of death. It’s not strong to be unafraid of being hurt. Being afraid is a part of learning how to bear things!

He then draws a sword with the Nightray crest out of his violin case, and faces the Baskerville family. One of the Baskervilles claims that he is doing something that is the same as seeking death, but Eliot denies that he would ever seek death.

During the battle, Eliot overhears Lottie mentioning the Tragedy of Sabrie to Oz, and it seems to greatly affect him. When Lottie is trying to hurt Oz to coax out Jack, Eliot tries to help him, even when he’s in his own battle. Reo backs him up with his gun, and he manages to grab Oz and run.

Eliot didn’t mention any of Oz’s self sacrificing behavior, and had been content to just keep leading the way out, until Oz told him he shouldn’t have interfered. He then blew up on him, telling him to stop being so self-absorbed. Oz’s feelings of, “It doesn’t matter what happens to me,” really gets to Eliot. He didn’t even care if he was killed. At that, Eliot shoved Oz against the wall, demanding to know how many hearts he had broken that way, by being a selfish asshole who only sought death. He couldn’t save anyone that way, he only was trying to protect his inner self. Oz forces the people who love him carry the burdens he finds too heavy to bear. He just doesn’t want to be hurt himself. If he thinks so lightly of his own life, he has no right to protect anyone.

His harsh and blunt words finally makes Oz open up, and admit things he had never even admitted to Gil. Eliot sees his realization, and immediately smiles and moves on, without even another word.

Oz asks what Eliot and Reo would do if he had to be caught so that they could live. Eliot admits, he has no idea, and would just go with the flow. The only thing he knew for certain was he would never let Oz die. It finally inspires Oz to fight too, even without Alice and Gil.

An odd fact that I noticed is, Eliot always talks about not self-sacrificing, and yet when Oz finally manages to call out to B. Rabbit, he shields Reo when it appears.

When the battle is over, after Jack takes over Oz’s body to help with the Baskervilles, Eliot and Reo help Oz in finding a way out of the secret passages. During this time, Oz says he finally realizes his own uselessness. Reo blames that on Eliot for being too harsh. When Oz keeps saying that, Eliot yells at him again, calling him an idiot and saying that he’s already taken a step forward, and that it’s Oz’s choice to keep going in that direction. He walks on, pretending he didn’t just try to cheer Oz up, even though it’s obvious.

[Background]
Born the second of two children to John and Mary Winchester, Sam is four years younger than his brother Dean. After his mother's death when he was a baby, the two boys were raised on the road as their father made it his life's mission to find and kill the thing that murdered her. They were raised more like warriors than children, and soon learned a skills set to rival the training of a military soldier.

Mary Winchester's death is probably the most significant part of Sam's past. Exactly on the day Sam turned six months old, Mary Winchester was killed by a demon, Azazel, after interrupting his plan to give Sam demon blood. She was pinned to the ceiling, her stomach cut and burned in a fire that was later deemed an accident by the fire department. Of course, Sam doesn't find out about his demon blood until later in the series.

Season One kicks off with Sam at the age of 22. In his late teens he had decided he was tired of the hunt and wanted to live a normal live. John Winchester didn't react well and thus the season opens with Sam attending Stanford University, having not heard from his family in a few years. Dean shows up and informs him that their Dad is missing and that they need to go find him. Sam reluctantly agrees to leave and tells his girlfriend Jess that he will be back in two days.

Heading to the place John Winchester was last known to be, they soon discover that John was forced to leave in a hurry. They also find his book of information, and inside are coordinates. After they finish the hunt that John hadn't been able to finish, Dean drives Sam back to Stanford and drops him off.

When Sam gets inside, he lays down to wait for Jess to get out of the shower. He looks up on the ceiling and there she is, cut open just like his mother. Her body bursts into flames and Dean rushes in, dragging Sam away from it. After Jess' death, Sam decides that it's time for him to get revenge on the thing that had now taken two people away from him. He goes with Dean to continue to look for their dad, and get revenge.

They finally meet up with John at one of John's old friends houses in the mountains of Colorado. Here they take down an entire group of vampires trying to attain the Colt- a gun with thirteen bullets that can kill anything. John leaves the Colt in Dean and Sam's possession and they once again part ways.

They continue to hunt, waiting for word that their Dad has found what killed Mary. Finally he contacts them from Sacramento and gives them orders for their next hunt. Dean is all ready to go, but Sam thinks that finding their Dad is more important. They get into a fight and Sam leaves. While hitchhiking, Sam meets a girl named Meg who happens to be headed to the same place and they hit it off.

Sam ends up changing his mind and heads back to Dean and they continue to hunt. They end up in New York where Sam runs in to Meg in a bar and they soon find out that Meg was scoping Sam out for Azazel. The episode introducing Bobby Singer is the episode that they finally send her back to hell after she had captured their father.

After Meg is sent back to hell, Azazel surfaces. He contacts John and informs him that if he doesn't meet him with the Colt, he will kill every last one of John's friends. John reluctantly agrees but makes a fake Colt to take to Azazel.

John gets possessed by Azazel and Dean and Sam are forced to fight with their father. They come out on top, John no longer possessed. Dean however is in need of hospital care and they get into the Impala to take him there. On the way, a demon driving a semi crashes in to the car. The trio is sent to a Las Vegas hospital.

Season Two opens with Dean in critical condition, and John and Sam freaking out. Dean realizes he's on the brink of death when he gets out of his own body and is wandering the halls of the hospital. A reaper comes for him and tries to convince him that letting go isn't all that bad, and that it is his time to go. However, John decides to summon Azazel and give him the Colt for Dean's life. Azazel isn't just satisfied with that however and demands John's life in place of Dean's. John agrees and is given a few minutes to say goodbye to his kids. Dean is revived and John whispers to Dean that if the time comes, he may have to kill Sam. He dies and the Winchester boys are left to mourn.

John makes a deal with the Yellow Eyed Demon to save Dean and dies, leaving the two boys to mourn and carry on. Along the way, Sam began to realize he had certain powers within him. He began to have visions of the future and a kind of telekinesis that allowed him to move objects with his mind. Unsure of the extent of his powers and how to use them, Sam stayed on the road with his brother in search of the demon and answers to questions of his new abilities. His role in Azazel’s plan became more pronounced when he finds himself transported to a ghost town along with several other ‘special children’ in a Darwinian game of survival. He is the last man standing, or would have been, but he was attacked by a man named Jake and died in Dean’s arms.

Dean goes to the crossroad in Greenwood, Mississippi. and summons the demon for a deal to save Sam. Then the Winchester brothers meet Bobby and Ellen arrives, delivers the documents Ash left in the safe. They find that there is a huge demon trap in the Wyoming built by Simon Colt. Meanwhile the Yellow-Eyed Demon gives the colt to Jake and forces him to open the protected gate of hell to unleash an army of demons.

[Background] The story starts when the Phantomhive manor is burnt to the ground one day, with the Phantomhive family inside. Lord Vincent and his wife Lady Rachel are killed in the fire and their son, Ciel, goes missing. He turns up a year later, a completely different person and accompanied by a butler in black. Though this butler is not your average butler. In addition to performing regular household tasks in the most perfect way possible he can also run faster than a car, catch bullets, and turn everyday utensils into weapons of death and destruction. This butler is a demon. A demon bound by Faustian contract to Ciel Phantomhive in exchange for the boy’s soul. He does whatever he is ordered to and tends to carry out his tasks flawlessly, whatever they may be.

Ciel, being the head of the Phantomhive family, not only runs a toy manufacturing company known as Funtom, but has also taken up another duty bestowed upon him due to his lineage. He is know as the Queen’s Watchdog, carrying out a myriad of tasks given to him by the Queen Victoria to help clear England of crime and filth. Being the Queen's Watchdog, Ciel has a duty to fulfill and utilizes every one of Sebastian's capabilities, making them somewhat akin to a Batman and Robin of the 19th century. If Batman were a 12-year-old brat and Robin did all the work. After dealing with a minor problem concerning the kidnapping of Ciel by the mafia, Ciel and Sebastian are summoned to London, where a violent serial killer has been targeting prostitutes. The press has named this serial killer, Jack the Ripper.

Sebastian and Ciel enter the London estate only to find it being rummaged through by Lau, Ciel’s aunt Madame Red, and her useless butler Grell Sutcliff. Apparently the three came for a visit, but after discussing current events they seem to want in on the case Ciel was sent to solve. After narrowing down the search criteria with Madame Red and Lau, Ciel has Sebastian carry out an investigation to find the most likely suspect for the murders. Sebastian finishes the task at inhuman speed and concludes that one Viscount Druit fits the description and is the most suspicious. The four of them go undercover (with Ciel in drag) and attend the Viscount’s last gala of the season. Once there Sebastian acts as a protector and a distraction, saving Ciel from being revealed by his fiancée Elizabeth and performing an impromptu magic show, giving Ciel enough to time to convince the Viscount to take him somewhere away from the party. Ciel is gassed and upon awakening to find a black market auction taking place and enough evidence to satisfy him, he summons Sebastian, who promptly arrives to knock out everyone in the room and save the day. Sebastian frees Ciel from his bonds and whisks him away from the gala just as the Scotland Yard arrives on scene.

Despite the effort put into catching the Viscount the group reads the paper the next day to find that another murder has occurred. This one having happened during the debacle at the party, meaning that they had succeeded in doing nothing more than capturing the wrong suspect. While going over the investigation results once more and a realization made by Ciel, Sebastian reveals that a human would be incapable of committing the murders. Ciel reacts with anger, having not been told this beforehand but Sebastian assures him that he never lied and only did what he was told. They once again go through the evidence and narrow down the suspects.

[Point in time taken from canon] After collapsing in chapter 162, when he used true Zekkai to protect Masamori

[Background]

The Karasumori household was known for their high spiritual power, so they were often plagued by supernatural phenomena. They hired Hazama Tokimori to deal with the ayakashi. The spiritual power of the household kept growing and made the ayakashi stronger, however. The ayakashi managed to kill the whole household during the period Tokimori was sick. The source of the energy was buried deep in the land, and Karasumori Academy, a school, was eventually built above it, still attracting and strengthening ayakashi. It is revealed that sometime ago, Hazama Tokimori asked a god named Uro-sama was asked to give the forest of Karasumori up.

Yoshimori is in one of two families decended from Hazama Tokimori, the Sumimuras. He is 14 years old, and has been forced into the family job since primary school. He works together with Tokine, his older childhood friend, in protecting the Karasumori land, now a schoolground, from invading ayakashi that can't be seen by normal people without the sense for it. Since he learned of Tokine's fondness for candy castles, he aspired to bake the best he could in his free time. He is a third year in middle school, enrolled in Karasumori Academy. Aside from dealing with agressive intruders, Yoshimori also assists wandering ghosts that wander in the area to pass on. He lives with his father, grandfather, and younger brother. His elder brother joined the Urukai and his mother is a skilled kekkaishi who travels around. His brother visits when he has business, and his mother is said to visit once in a while, though she didn't even contact the family on the one time she appeared in the story.

While he was 9 years old. Yoshimori was timid, sloppy and reluctant to being a kekkaishi. He took up the job when He kept crying and missed how Tokine was before they took up the job and she treated the family feud seriously. One night during a usual hunt, because of his hesitation in destroying a Yumigane-type ayakashi, Tokine got scratched and poisoned. He then vowed to protect Tokine sometime after. He did his best since then to stop crying, get stronger and to take his job seriously.

As he and Tokine defeated ayakashi that entered the land, his ability and ambition improved. He began learning about the Urukai, an organization of people with supernatural abilities, ever since he met Yomi, the ogre user. After Tokine showed him that making the kekkai softer would make projectiles bounce, he began trying many different things with his kekkai. When his spirit dog's friend tried to gain power from Karasumori, he gained more respect from Madarao and began to question the effects of Karasumori to demons. He resolved to permanently seal Karasumori to end the troubles they face when his older brother Masamori visited and tested his ability. It was around this time when ayakashi started acting weirdly, as if they planned and gathered information about the situation in Karasumori before invading. He found out a bit of the past of Hazama Tokimori when a god, Uro-sama, requested to have his bed fixed. When they dealt with the Shirahago-type ayakashi, they discovered an ayakashi watching wearing a synthetic human skin. They began suspecting something was strange in the behavior in recent attacks.

A mysterious transfer student comes in, revealed as Shishio Gen of the Urukai. He's a member of a subgroup within it called the Yagyou who was sent as support to the kekkaishi, and acts as their melee fighter with his speed and power during nights. Yoshimori was wary of him at first, but grew to trust him.

A group of ayakashi in human skin eventually came to the school during the day and announced that they, Kokubourou, were after Karasumori. That night when they fought is when they first meet Kaguro, an ayakashi that was once human. He incapacitated Gen and teased the others by demonstrating how easily he could kill them then going to the sidelines just to watch the rest unfold. That night concluded in Kaguro collecting data and telling Yoshimori that he had potential, and Gen being ordered to return to the Urakai. Masamori was promoted into Urukai's council of 12 and visited home on Gen's last day to tell of his promotion and some of his plans to their grandfather and told Yoshimori Gen's backstory. Yoshimori accepted all of what he did, and Masamori called to cancel Gen's recall. Because of Gen losing control that one time, Atora pays a visit to test their teamwork with Gen. Through the test, the three learned to trust each other and work together even without communication.

Heisuke, someone Yoshimori's grandfather asked to investigate about Kokubourou, was attacked and presumed dead. This signalled the start of Kokubourou's true attack. Kaguro visited Gen and gave him an egg that would trouble him with an inner conflict. Finally, Kokubourou's attack arrived. The Yoshimori and Yukimura households as well as the Yagyou were both attacked to avoid any support from reaching Karasumori as the main attack led by a strong ayakashi called Gagin. To beat him, Yoshimori and Yukine relied on Gen who had to fully transform to match Gagin's power. Just as Gen landed the finishing blow, Kaguro revealed himself and killed Gen from behind. The fox princess that Kokubourou was revolved around attacked after being impatient, but Karasumori struck her, ultimately halting Kokubourou's attack that day.

[Canon] Tales of Vesperia
[Point in time taken from canon]
During the fight with Schwann – she ‘fainted’ was knocked out, and a dream self was created in Somarium.

[Background]

Canon… did not give Rita a past. I hope that’s going to change in the PS3 port, but for now, anything before the beginning of the game is all speculation on my part based on the little that was given during the game.

She was born in Aspio* under unfortunate circumstances. Given the nature of the city, she was probably born to a pair of researchers that had absolutely no interest in raising a child, and unwanted children were generally left to fend for themselves at a young age. It’s never explicitly stated whether or not she remembers her parents, but she did profess to ‘not having any family’, from which could be derived that she has not been in contact with them for quite some time now.

Given her personality, there are several things that can be derived: 1) she did not have any friends while growing up, 2) she did not have any adult figures while growing up 3) she was rarely taken seriously because of her age 4) her current place in life was achieved purely through her own hard work. That being said, it can already be seen that Rita’s childhood was probably a very lonely one. She had to grow up quickly in order to fend for herself. Sometime during her childhood, she came into contact with blastia, which spurred on a life-long love for learning and a near-obsession with the technology that eventually became the basis for her existence.

We first meet Rita in the game in the scholarly city of Aspio. Well, more like the party (consisting of Yuri, Estelle and Karol) first meet Rita when they break into her house in search of incriminating evidence that would connect its residence with the string of blastia thefts across the capital. They didn’t find anything particularly incriminating except for a short, blunt and arrogant 15-year-old hidden in a pile of books, who promptly got up and shot fireballs at the nearest moving thing. She really didn’t take well to having her house ‘raided’ so to speak, and even more so since she thought the reason was for stealing her research. When the party accused her with being a thief, she didn’t take that too well either. However, she immediately saw a use for the band of ragamuffins that littered her doorstep, and proceeded to take to Shaikos Ruins under the pretense of ‘clearing her name’ (though that to, was a part of it. It just happened to be a bonus of a sorts, seeing as she knows that she didn’t do it. It’s just a matter of finding who did.).

At Shaikos Ruins, the party navigates more or less through the wreckage. There, Rita demonstrates knowledge of her field though expanding on the various applications of the blastia in the ruins. She also reveals that she has been studying at these ruins for some time now, and being in possession of a Sorcerer’s Ring, which are only given to a special group of people (presumably highly-ranked researchers), marked her as someone who was important, if not a little famous. However, the party ended up having to fight the golem that she had been studying previously – having ended up this way because it turns out that there was a man in the ruins who was going around stealing blastia, and he reactivated the golem in order to get away from the party. Rita was knocked into a pillar by the golem, and Estelle jumped to heal her – and it was here that Rita first had suspicions about Estelle’s blastia and her healing artes. However, there was not any time to analyze that thought, for their ‘culprit’ was getting away, and the golem was still rampaging. Because Rita disliked injuring her beloved blastia, especially since she’s been studying this golem for quite a while now, she was very disappointed, or sad even, to have to shut down the poor thing. Which only made her angrier at the man who set the golem on them in the first place.

The man turned out not to be the blastia thief, but knew the real culprit, who was a part of a blastia-thieving scheme that seemed to stretch far beyond local organized crime. With this, however, Rita’s name was cleared, and they returned to Aspio to regroup and decide on their next course of action. Rita did not have any particular reason to continue on with the rest of them, seeing as she had accomplished a part of what she set out to do. However, her golem had been neutralized, and… well, it was hard to say, but Aspio was starting to lose that spark. Being with company for the first time in who knows how long, it was invigorating, and though she had inkling that they were all idiots to the T, it could be considered as pleasant. With that feeling of discomfort in mind, she drudged up the excuse of needing to go take a look at Halure’s barrier blastia, the one which had previously been mysteriously broken, and ended up following the party to Halure. And as it turned out, beyond. Way beyond.

She ended up deciding to go along with the party to Nor Harbour, though the reasons behind it are not specified – it’s a combination of the chaotic confusion left following the attack from the knights, and her own curiosity about Estelle’s ‘blastia’, as well as the power that was used to make Halure’s tree bloom like that. The party travels then to Ehmead Hill, which is directly between them and Nor Harbour, and is also where Rita first comes into contact with the doings of the ‘Dragon Rider’.

The destroyed blastia at Ehmead Hill had a very strange formula. But what ticked her off more was that someone would go along and destroy that blastia, and when it comes to blastia, no reason’s fair enough. Because of her reckless actions in trying to examine the broken blastia, the party flees Ehmead hill with knights on their heels, and manages to take cover in the nearby woods. On the path, they come across a picturesque view of the ocean, in which Rita professes that she has never seen the ocean before.

At Capua Nor, they meet up with Flynn, childhood friend of Yuri and an Imperial Knight of Zaphias. After a series of events, the party realizes the corruption of the local magistrate, Ragou. However, the knights are unable to take action, since there are plenty of ‘exceptions’ that prevent them from exercising their power of search on a magistrate’s home. Thus, the party decides to infiltrate the mansion and ‘cause a commotion’, which would give the knights an excuse to barge in. At then entrance, while debating on the proper method of execution, Rita encounters Raven, an ‘old friend’ of Yuri’s (Well, they just met in jail, and he did help Yuri escape out of there, but that’s where ‘friendship’ draws a line), who ‘helps’ them enter the mansion by drawing the attention of the guards to them. They ended up barging their way into the mansion, and after uncovering some heinous deeds, find a weather-influencing blastia in Ragou’s house. Rita, insanely curious about the blastia, would obviously go on to study it.

However, the party was discovered, and in making a ‘commotion’, the Flynn brigade also shows up, as per planned. What was not planned, was the entrance of the Dragon Rider, who swooped in, dodged fireballs, and destroyed the weather-altering blastia, before disappearing the way he came. Enraged, Rita swore to destroy the Dragon Rider at the next opportune encounter for his despicable acts against Blastia.

This is repeated again when they encounter the Dragon Rider at Caer Bocram, and then at the tower of Ghasfarost, where the identity of the Dragon Rider is more or less revealed to be Judith, though only to Yuri. Judith then joins the party, which Rita isn’t really sure what to think about that.

Nothing else happens Rita-wise in the game for a while. The party travel to Capua Torim, Caer Bocram, then to Heliord, Dahngrest, and then, in the forests of Keiv Moc, they met up once more with Raven, and discovered the existence of ‘Aer Krenes’. Areas where Aer is constantly being created.

Franziska von Karma - 2/?
[info]goldeyedmonster
2009-07-15 04:56 am UTC (link)
[Background] Franziska was born to Manfred von Karma, a prosecutor, known for his "perfect" career, and his desire to get a guilty verdict no matter the situation. He adopted Miles Edgeworth into his family shortly after the boy's father died, teaching him the "ways of a prosecutor". Perhaps it was both her father and her "younger brother Miles" (Franziska always refers to Edgeworth as her younger brother, despite their age difference) that led her to desire a career as a prosecutor as well.

At age thirteen, Franziska became a prosecutor, earning her the title of "The Prodigy" in European circles. She maintained a career of perfection, always striving for a guilty verdict, just like her father. When he died and Edgeworth "disappeared", Franziska traveled to America to meet the infamous Phoenix Wright, the man solely responsible for marring the von Karma name. Franziska claimed early on that she wanted revenge on Wright, though he took it to mean revenge for her father. Instead, it seems as if Franziska cares more about the loss of a "perfect" career for both her father and "younger brother" than the fact that her father is in jail. She rarely seems to mention this in Phoenix's presence, and when he questions her on it, the topic usually strays into "what it means to be a von Karma"... in other words, being perfect.

During her time in America, Franziska faces Phoenix in three cases. The first involves Maya, who is accused of murdering a man during a channeling. Franziska's desire to go to any lengths to get a guilty verdict, rubs Phoenix, Maya, and Pearl (Maya's younger cousin) the wrong way and sets the stage for future interactions. Franziska is a force to be reckoned with in the courtroom. She desires perfection not only from herself, but the witnesses she calls. She carries a whip with her, and uses it on Phoenix, the Judge, and any witness who frustrates her, particularly the ones who provide useless testimony or information. The Judge (and others) are often inclined to give her what she wants in order to avoid her whippings wrath.

When Franziska loses her first case against Phoenix (the channeling murder incident), she is floored and incredibly upset. However, the next time they meet, Franziska claims that the win was simply a fluke and that her perfect record is still in tact. During the murder incident at the circus, Franziska and Phoenix actually meet during the investigation. It is here where Franziska tells Phoenix of the real reason she desires "revenge" - she blames him for the "death" of Miles Edgeworth. This so-called "death" happened after Phoenix defended Edgeworth in court, winning his case against prosecutor Manfred von Karma. Some time after the case, a note appeared in Edgeworth's office stating "Prosecutor Miles Edgeworth chooses death". Franziska believes him to still be alive, but believes he no longer wants to be a prosecutor. For this, she blames Phoenix.

[Background] From the moment Chopper was born, he was ostricized from his herd; the young reindeer had a blue nose instead of the usual brown, which the other reindeer saw as a reason to shun him. He lived this way, following the herd but never part of it, until he was ten. When grazing, he happened upon a strange fruit and ate it; this fruit turned out to be a devil fruit (a fruit which grants the eater a power, but makes them unable to swim or float in water), the hito-hito no mi (human-human fruit). Being a zoan fruit, it gave him the ability to change form- into both a human and a cross between his natural and new human forms. This fruit also granted him much higher intelligence than that of a reindeer (although the reindeer on Drum seem to be more human-like in intelligence and life-span than normal reindeer anyway). With his newly-aquired ability, though, the reindeer no longer wanted anything to do with him at all and chased him away. So, he tried to go live with humans.

Which was a big mistake. The villages he approached chased him away, thinking he was a monster. He was shot at, and ran away injured and scared. It was then that he was found by a strange man known as Doctor Hiruluk. Hiruluk wasn't really a doctor; he claimed to be so that he could try out his bizarre potions and whatnot on people, but he never actually healed anyone, and more often than not his patients ended up worse than they had been when he started out. When Hiruluk saw Chopper, he decided to care for him. After winning his trust (by taking his clothes off to show that he meant no harm), Hiruluk brought Chopper back to his house and cared for his wounds. It was then that he gave Chopper his name- "Tony-Tony" because of him being a reindeer (the Japanese word for reindeer is "tonakai"), and Chopper because he looked as if he could chop down trees with his antlers. As Chopper recovered, the two became incredibly close. Hiruluk even gave Chopper his first present- the pink hat that he always wears. But when Chopper was finally recovered, Hiruluk kicked him out, saying that he wanted nothing to do with him (and even shooting at him as the scared reindeer fled). But it was all a lie; Hiruluk had once suffered from an incurable disease, a disease which he was still dying from despite thinking that he had recovered. He knew his remaining time was short, and didn't want Chopper to see him die. But when he confessed this to his close friend, a fellow doctor by the name of Kureha, Chopper overheard and went to find a cure for Hiruluk's disease.

After finding what he thought was the cure in one of Hiruluk's books, Chopper set out on a journey to find an amiudake mushroom. He finally found one, after many difficulties (including a fight with his old herd in which he lost most of an entire antler). He quickly brought it back to the Doctor, who thanked him and immediately made it into a strong medicine. He then left Chopper to rest at home while he went to care for patients.

In reality, though, Hiruluk knew what Chopper did not. He went to Kureha to tell her that he was dying, and ask her to care for Chopper. She refused, telling him he would recover, which he denied. He refused to explain, though, and instead went to confront the tyrant who ruled the country. When Kureha, needing answers, went to Chopper to find out what happened, she was shocked; the amiudake that Chopper had been so sure was the cure, that Hiruluk had happily taken, was in reality a very poisonous mushroom. Chopper ran after Hiruluk, in an attempt to save his life, but was too late; just as he approached the castle, the Doctor blew himself up in an attempt to get through to the king. Chopper went on a rampage, trying to kill all the king's men, but was stopped by one of the king's guards and told that he should back down. He reluctantly did, though, and went back to Kureha. There, he begged her to teach him to be a doctor, so that he could cure any disease, even one said to be incurable. She agreed, and began to teach him all she knew.

Five years later, a group of pirates came to Drum, bringing a furious Wapol (the tyrant who ruled the island) along with them. Chopper, with the assistance of the pirates, defeated the king. The captain of the pirates, a boy by the name of Luffy, asked Chopper to join his crew, an offer which Chopper eventually accepted. And so he left his home to go out to sea, finally being like the pirates Hiruluk had told him so much about, to find a way to cure any disease.

Since then, Chopper has had many adventures with the Strawhat Pirates. He's helped save a desert kingdom, and gone up to a whole continent in the clouds. Most recently, though, he helped to save one of their crewmates from being executed by the World Government. They have now set off on another journey with a new boat, hoping to find fishman island.

[Character name] Genjyo Sanzo
[Age] Around 23
[Canon] Saiyuki
[Point in time taken from canon] Post Vol. 9 of Saiyuki Reload after the party's confrontation with Ukoku Sanzo

[Background] His personality can easily connect him to how he came to be. During his past when a Sanzo priest named Koumyou found him floating in a basket in a river, he was saved and looked after. Koumyou raised him and took him under his wing to learn the ways of being a priest and learning martial arts and such magic. There were other monks that showed jealousy and treated him badly because he was the high priest's star pupil. He didn't care for them except for Koumyou who he had been looking up to ever since.

Koumyou who is also Sanzo's father figure was killed by a band of demon thieves who were after his sutra. Sanzo was also present in the room awaiting his title to be given to him. He was protected by Koumyou. Soon after Koumyou's death, during the council, he had told the story but non would believe his tale and was accused of him stealing his master's sutra for himself. He had swore to protect his master's death and accepted the title, thus dropping his given name by his father figure. He left the temple with a chakra on his forehead to begin his journey.

He begun to carry both of the sutras, the one from Koumyou and his own on his shoulders, but after a fire incident, his master's sutra was stolen. He was given orders to stay put in Southern Chang'an and was told that he would probably wouldn't even notice the sutra. During his stay, his past would come to give him nightmares, The head priest that he met while being here spoke to him a few times with a cigarette in his mouth, this was the time when Sanzo opposes the use of smoking. When day would come, he would hide in the temple and prayed without chanting his sutra.

Then, a few days later, the temple was attacked while the head priest lied to the ones that come to take his life in order to protect Sanzo. The head priest eventually dies, saying the same words that his master had told him which angered him. He takes the gun that was handed to him by the head priest and confronts the group of men. He notices a demon among the group and begins to question him about his master's sutra. He ended up killing the demon and became head of the temple. After his nightmares had vanished, a strange voice begun to call for him and Sanzo first began to smoke a cigarette.

Meanwhile, Sanzo follows the voice that kept bothering him to find a boy behind a cave like cage. He sets the boy named Son Goku free from his imprisonment and takes him with him. He then was given orders from the Gods to start his journey to the west.

Genjyo Sanzo | Pt. II
[info]natsunuts
2009-08-01 04:30 am UTC (link)
[Personality] Sanzo is a man who doesn't like to express his feelings to anyone and therefore keeps it hidden within himself. The only emotion he expresses is his cold heart and short tempered self. There are times that he will show his version of kindness by protecting others who needed help or when he thought it was deem necessary. He also hates a few things and that is children and animals-probably because he gets annoyed easily and it drives him insane. The only people he can stand are the ones in his party and Hakkai's pet dragon Hakuryuu, though when Goku and Goyjo bicker and bicker, he threatens to shoot them and sometimes he even fires his gun to shut them up. Just because Sanzo doesn't show any sort of affection or compassion to his teammates doesn't always mean that he doesn't care. He cares for his friends deeply and chose not to express his feelings.

Sanzo has a dislike for many things he witnessed in his travels to India, much like loud and obnoxious people or stupidity among all else. He gets bothered by even the smallest things. He has slowly learned to not be bothered by it or try not to care. He doesn't have much respect for anyone who thinks they are stronger than he is, but only that they are far weaker than himself. As a priest, he is full of vanity and carries zero tolerant to those around him. He breaks the rules of being a monk and smokes, drinks, gamble, and swears.

[Abilities] Sanzo is able to wield two weapons, the maten sutra or the scripture of darkness that clung over his shoulders. Since he is a priest he is able to use it to restraint his opponent if his other weapon, a small revolver doesn't do much work. Though, the scriptures does no harm to the opponent because as a priest, they shouldn't be able to use it to actually harm or kill. When he clasp his hands together and begins to chant, that is when the scripture begin to move and goes forward to do numerous amount of things, for example, banish demons/people, freeze them in place, or seal their abilities for a certain amount of time.

Back to the revolver that he normally uses to kill which is called a banishing gun and its uses are for silencing angry spirits, destroy demons, it can destroy cursed objects, and shoot through magic and seals.

*In Somarium, he is able to use his sutra but it won't be strong enough to withhold his target and/or opponent very well and his gun will only be a regular weapon and won't have the ability to destroy or break through magic or the like as said above. The complete opposite really.

[Other important stuff] N/A

Toboe [2] Background is kinda long :/
[info]grannyswolf
2009-08-01 06:03 am UTC (link)
[Background]
When Toboe was very little, he was found by an elderly woman whom he calls “Granny.” He was raised as a pet by her and he lived a happy, quite life. Those days came to a sudden close when Toboe accidently suffocated her out of pure playfulness. When Toboe realized this, it was a little too late and Granny died.

After Granny’s death and with heavy feeling of sad loneliness, he wandered into Freeze City where he met Tsume, Kiba, and Hige. And the four set out a journey to find stolen Cheza (by Dracia) and ultimately find paradise. From right off of the bat, Toboe is enthralled by the idea of paradise which is total opposite of skeptic Tsume and is a childish contrast to dead on serious Kiba. Hige seems to be the only one in sync with him at first because of their similar easy-going attitude. Later in the series, Blue is the wolf in the pack that Toboe can understand and relate well since they were both raised by humans and were attached to them. Like a family.

Daw, anyhow – the four wolves, Kiba, Tsume, Hige, and Toboe, journeyed across the lands looking for the flower maiden. Some things happened on the way – a killer robot incident, a city with some low-spirited wolves, and a lot of running – and at Dracia’s stronghold in the mountains, they rescued Cheza from Dracia while he was busy being attacked by Orkham’s soldiers (they came to pick Cheza up too).

Then the pack is on the run from the Noble’s troops. But the two big boys, Kiba and Tsume, began to have a little quarrel over leadership role while Toboe and Hige happily stays out of the discussion. When the confrontation gets a little to hostile, Cheza sings them a lullaby and they all have nice dreams. Toboe dreamed of sleeping next to Granny by a warm fireplace and then in middle of lunar flower field. I had a bit of a Aww moment here. XD

After a good night’s sleep, the pack continued on to look for a way out of the mountains and they decided to go through the Forest of Death. They have a little counter with Quent where he tries to make them into a Swiss cheese with his gun. But considering that they’re a faster species, they managed to escape him and the troops that appear soon after. In the forest, the pack is bit creeped out by the bones and eerie dark atmosphere. And Toboe winds up tripping on some tree stomp. Ouch. But Cheza with her magical flower maiden powerz heal him via patting. Then after that she began to wither and the wolves freak out. They meet an owl who will stalk Kiba throughout the series and comes upon a cave. Some more quarrel here, but they end up going in and encounter gigantic bugs. Yuck. But Cheza saves the day by distracting them to some odd looking plant. And the wolves just beat the crap out of them. Yay, the power of teamwork and friendship – this pack rulez!

[Character name] Howl
[Age] Not actually shown in the anime, but he’s ooold. But let’s just take it that he’s 27. XD
[Canon] Howl’s Moving Castle
[Point in time taken from canon] After one particular little wartime adventure. WTFBBQ.

[Background] Howl’s past, from a long time ago, was already full of strange happenings. Perhaps starting from the bit of the anime that shows the youngest part of his life may help. Young Howl is walking through a meadow, brilliant shooting stars streaking across the skies. He is at his little mill-house hideway. Every star that falls dies off when it comes into contact with the water, the ground, anything… But young Howl seems to be waiting for something. Watching for something. Then he reaches his two hands out, cupped together, and seizes a beautiful falling star. They speak, bargain, make a pact. Then young Howl is swallowing the star, the light enveloping him, and it seems like something terribly wrong has happened… Then he bends over slightly and clutches at his chest. Slowly, as he removes his hands, a little flame emerges in his palms, carrying his own heart which now binds them both together.

Howl is heartless.
He had lived out his life as a wizard, of course, and he’d had a lot of time.
With that amount time, he ran around playing with girl’s hearts, unknowing but yet wondering about how it felt to love (or be loved).
Then he met Sophie, Sophie who was being accosted by a few soldiers. Obviously, he took the chance to show off – he backed her up, said a few smartass words to the soldiers and sent them on their ways with a few gestures of his hand. He charmed Sophie with his words and his good appearance, and as he escorted her down the narrow alleyway, dark black masses crowded the entire place.
The only way to escape was up and with that, he secured his arm around Sophie’s waist and jumped into the sky, walking on air.
He enjoyed the amazed look on her face, but after leaving her at her destination he disappeared, the wizard and his tricks.

Howl was always out and dealing with the harsh wars in the country when he wasn’t playing with pretty girls, and returning from one particular spot of either activity, he found Sophie, only a Sophie so old and wrinkled it was obvious she had been put under some cruel spell. His face was impassive and he only looked amused, at most, when Calcifer was seen bullied into submission for getting under the pan to cook for everyone. Howl took over the cooking after that, ever silent and emotionless, and slowly everyone began to settle in, even the “cleaning lady” Sophie.

And somehow, when Howl was upstairs, she had found a way to almost let his heart, Calcifer, die off. Sporting a fresh change of clothes, hair neat and back in a “good” mood, Howl swooped over to the fireplace and revived Calcifer, though seemingly undisturbed about what had happened. As abruptly as him coming downstairs, he left the house, but not before everyone could see the war scene beyond the magical door. Then there was silence again as Howl disappeared through it.

He was flying, in a feathered form, over a burning city. He fought a lot and returned to his Castle exhausted, finding that with each transformation of himself it is harder to return to human form. It is at this point where, after he has a hushed conversation with Calcifer about his problems, that he goes upstairs to sleep after checking on Sophie. She appeared young again as she was asleep, and with what seemed to be an almost fond look in his eyes he dropped the curtain and left.

[Personality] Howl seems very detached and uncaring for everyone who meets him for the first time. Always walking around with only a hint of a smile on his face, he never actually shows how he is feeling… Or perhaps it is just because he isn’t feeling anything. Since living with Sophie, though, he appears to have improved a very little bit on his niceties.

KOS-MOS 2/?
[info]precious_person
2009-08-01 07:57 am UTC (link)
[Background] KOS-MOS is an android, created by Vector Industries and designed to destroy Gnosis, a type of alien creature that preys on humans.

Her first appearance in-game is when she is still being created. Shion Uzuki, a Vector Industries employee and KOS-MOS's co-creator, proceeds with a test experiment on her, which includes a brief appearance of a young girl (Nephilim). Eventually, the Woglinde, the ship where KOS-MOS's project is being housed, is attacked by a group of Gnosis, who are lusting after the Emulator, an odd but powerful object that the ship picked up in space. During the attack, KOS-MOS is activated suddenly and without significant warning, and proceeds to aid Shion in escaping.

After the Woglinde is destroyed, Shion, a lieutenant named Cherenkov, Allen Ridgely, a co-worker of Shion's who secretly loves her, and KOS-MOS are rescued by the Elsa starship, which was investigating the ruins of the starship for the Kukai Foundation. On the starship, the group encounters the mysterious boy named chaos before asking Captain Matthews to escort them to Second Miltia.

Meanwhile, Cyborg Ziggurat 8 (Ziggy), a cyborganic mercenary, is assigned to rescue the 100-Series Realian Prototype, MOMO, who was kidnapped by the U-TIC Organization because she carries the Y-Data, which contains the steps to finding the Original Zohar on Old Miltia, among other information. Ziggy is ordered to bring MOMO to Second Miltia for testing of the Y-Data. Ziggy reaches the U-TIC headquarters and rescues MOMO. However, the duo is chased by U-TIC operatives in hyperspace until they encounter the Elsa. The two parties meet and decide to join together on their journey to Second Miltia.

During this incident, the never-aging U.R.T.V. unit Jr. is attacked by a U-TIC battleship while investigating the Woglinde for any signs of the Zohar Emulator. Jr. escapes with a significant amount of U-TIC information.

After stopping at Dock Colony, the Elsa runs into the Cathedral Ship, a planet-sized Gnosis created from the disappeared planet Ariadne and made complete with the Zohar Emulator stolen from the Woglinde. While escaping the Cathedral Ship, Cherenkov mutates into a Gnosis and dies. The Elsa and the party are rescued by Jr. and the Durandal starship, which was passing by in search for the Emulator. Jr. apprehends the Zohar Emulator from the destroyed Cathedral Ship and explains that he now has the twelve Emulators created by scientist Joachim Mizrahi (MOMO's creator). However, Emulators are only contain a fraction of the power that is housed by the Original Zohar, trapped on Old Miltia.

Jr. takes them back to the Kukai Foundation, where the party is introduced to Jr.'s fellow U.R.T.V. unit, Gaignun Kukai. Eventually, the Galaxy Federation places charges on the Kukai Foundation for the destruction of the Woglinde, due to some manipulation by U-TIC officials and insiders. In order to prove innocence, Shion Uzuki leads a dive into the Encephalon to find KOS-MOS' black box, which will prove that the Gnosis were responsible. In the Encephalon, the party relives childhood memories, including the Miltian Conflict.

Furthermore, Shion is encountered by Febronia, who explains that a time will come where KOS-MOS will encounter the wave existence U-DO, and in the near future, Shion will free her "sisters". Febronia also states that all factions involved must travel to Old Miltia.

U-TIC realizes that their plot to distract Kukai and Miltia in order to apprehend MOMO has failed, so they dispatch Jr.'s brother and fellow U.R.T.V. unit, Albedo, to formulate his own strategy. Albedo decides to activate the Song of Nephilim, which generates a Gnosis attack around the Kukai Foundation. In the confusion surrounding the attack, Albedo kidnapps MOMO and brings her to the Song of Nephilim. KOS-MOS and the party go to the Song and defeat Albedo. Before escaping, Albedo successfully searches MOMO for the Y-Data.
